Company Activity

The Company Activity API provides insights into the industries in which a company operates. It includes primary and secondary industry codes, secondary company names, and institutional sector codes—giving a clear picture of a company's business activities. With just a company ID, you can quickly understand what type of business a company conducts. This helps organisations screen for high-risk industries, ensure values alignment, and identify potential partners, suppliers, or customers based on industry relevance.

Use Case:

• A B2B service provider uses the Business Classification API to filter out applicants in high-risk sectors and instead focus on industries that align with their sustainability values.
• A government department uses the company activity API to confirm that vendors operate in legitimate and expected industries. Suppliers involved in high-risk or unrelated business areas can be flagged before entering long-term public contracts.

For industry code and industry code text, the Swedish SNI codes are used. The SNI standard is based on NACE, but holds one more, Swedish-specific level. The value "00009" means that the industry code is unknown. A common reason for this is that the company is relatively new and has not yet received an industry code.

The full code table is maintained by Swedish Statistiska Centralbyrån. We use the version “SNI 2007, Aktiviteter”, when we display the description of the industry code in the response.
